As I was going through my old stash the other day I came across my 1st quilt that started me on this quilting journey. I had started hand quilting it and since that is not going to happen I took it and machine quilted (in the ditch) and finished it. You can tell by the colors how old it is. I took a quilting class at Quilt's Bayou in Lake Charles, LA and we learnt by doing sampler blocks. I laughed to myself as I was quilting at seeing all of my mistakes. Now if I could just finish other ufo's.

Her 92nd Birthday
My grandmother, Viola Savant Bushnell's birthday was the 26th. We celebrated it Saturday at my Uncle Wade Savant's shop with a "Savant" BBQ. Uncle Tyrone Savant BBQ'd pork steaks with the best Savant BBQ sauce (I think so anyway). These are pictures of her, she still gets along great. In the top picture is her with her brother's. There were 13 children in her family. She has 3 other sisters living. Love her, she is precious to me.

I made Judy's Biscuits
Judy from patchworktimes.com had a biscuit recipe on her site so I had to try it this morning. My husband and mother-in-law thought they were good. Mine doesn't look as pretty as her's did but they tasted good.
Alayna Belle's Quilt
My 1st cousin is having a baby girl and the shower is tomorrow. She will be named Alayna Belle after our grandmother, Annie Belle Cooper. I did a quilt along with Randi from, "i have to say. blogspot.com. I don't know what I did, probably not pinning enough but I had the worst trouble squaring this quilt up. I love the quilting that Mr. John Nichol's from Kinder did on this one. I hope they like it.
